If you’re looking to buy a low emission vehicle and charge point for home or work use, the “OLEV Grant” is a government grant which entitles you to money off specific low emission vehicles AND money off electric charger installation. Your choice of car and charger must be on the OLEV approved installer list but if they are then you’ll be entitled to up to £3,000 off the RRP of the car and up to £350 towards the installation of your charger. You don’t need to do anything to claim these other than pick an approved vehicle and an approved charger installation.
Being OZEV approved we do all the paperwork. All we require from you is some basic information about your electric vehicle and property.
OZEV GRANT Eligibility checklist
- Registered keepers of a new or second-hand electric vehicle
- individuals who lease an eligible vehicle for at least 6 months
- individuals who are assigned a company car for at least 6 months
- individuals who lease through a salary sacrifice scheme
- individuals who are named, by their employer, as the primary user
- individuals who have ordered an eligible electric vehicle
SPECIALIST EV INSTALLERS
dOMESTIC
The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) is a grant that provides a 75% contribution to the cost of one chargepoint and its installation. A grant cap is set at £350 (including VAT) per installation.
The main requirement is that a person owns, leases, or has ordered a qualifying vehicle and has dedicated off-street parking at their property. A person may apply for 2 chargepoints at the same property if they have 2 qualifying vehicles.

Workplace
The WCS is open to businesses, charities and public sector organisations that meet the applicant and site eligibility criteria.
The grant covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (inclusive of VAT), capped at a maximum of:
- £350 per socket
- 40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you would like to install them in 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site

What happens next?
Once you have reviewed the charge points available to you, begin your journey by calling or emailing us.
After some simple photos of your consumer unit, cut out fuse, meter and cable routing are seen we can assess if your applicable for the OZEV grant.
If the Rainbow team require further information or its a large project we provide free site visits and a quotation.
We will review the information you have sent through and then once everything is in order, a date will be arranged for your installation.
- Our fully qualified installer will mount your chargepoint on the wall and run the cable back to your fuse board. The charger will be fully operational upon completion, and we’ll submit the grant.
